Martial artists live by a code, our code is the Bushid ō Code or Seven Virtues of the Samurai.
Samurai (侍) were military nobility in Japan dating as far back as the early 900’s. By the end of the 12th century, samurai became almost entirely synonymous with bushi (武士) and the word was closely associated with the middle and upper echelons of the warrior class.

The samurai followed a set of rules that came to be known as bushidō. Bushidō actually comes from a combination of words, Bushi which means Warrior and Do which means Way.
